Liftable for food and drink brands

Know why food and drink shoppers leave your store — and what to fix first

Liftable scans your Shopify store, estimates what each leak could be worth at a food and drink order value, and drafts the fix for you to approve.

Free scan · results in about a minute

Food and drink is the highest repeat-rate category on this list, so almost all the value is in the second order onward. That makes two things expensive: anything that breaks a first purchase, and anything that hides the subscription that turns one order into twelve.

Perishability makes the delivery date part of the product rather than a logistics detail — a shopper buying coffee or fresh food needs to know when it arrives before they will commit.

Below is what a scan of a fictional food and drink store finds, priced at the category default of $48 an order.

How each figure is priced

Assumptions for this example: 40,000 sessions a month, $48 average order (the category default in Liftable's pricing spec), 2.6% site conversion, 62% of customers ordering again within 31 days, 78% of sessions on mobile. Surface shares are the spec defaults (product pages 55%, cart 22%, checkout 9%). Each cost is capped at 35% of the surface's monthly revenue and rounded to the nearest $100.

  • P5 · sub_placement (35% category subscription share − 12% on this store) × 1,040 orders a month × $125 (subscription value $173 − one-time $48) × 35% recovery.
  • C1 · ship_surprise 3,600 checkout sessions × 18% step exit × 45% excess share = 292 lost sessions × $78 (order value × 1 + 62% repeat) × 37% recovery.
  • C3 · code_hunt 8,800 cart sessions × 4.5% who open the code field × 71% who do not come back = 281 sessions × $48 × 30% recovery.
  • P1 · speed_pdp Reviews and bundle widgets: LCP 3.4 s is 0.9 s over 2.5 s → 6.3% conversion loss × 22,000 product-page sessions × 2.6% conversion = 36 orders × $48 × 60% recovery.
  • P6 · delivery_promise Benchmark: 2.5% uplift (delivery promise on a perishable product) × 22,000 pdp sessions × 2.6% conversion = 14 orders × $48 × 25% recovery.
  • A2 · ai_readiness Benchmark: 1% uplift (structured data) × 22,000 pdp sessions × 2.6% conversion = 6 orders × $48 × 25% recovery.

What Liftable would draft for Harbour Roasters.

Each fix starts from a template in the scan spec and is adapted to the store's theme. You approve it before anything changes; our founding team implements it with you and measures the result where traffic supports it.

Move the subscribe toggle beside the price

FIX 2 · C1 · $8,400/mo illustrative

Shipping estimate and free-shipping gap in the cart

For: shipping cost first appears at checkout.

Runs on: Duplicate theme

FIX 3 · C3 · $4,000/mo illustrative

Auto-apply the best live code and collapse the field

For: discount field invites leaving.

Runs on: Discount function + duplicate theme

Where each fix runs: shipping and discount changes run as Shopify Functions, which already run tests on stores. Page changes run through Liftable's theme app extension, shown only to the shoppers in a test and never by editing your theme's code; that runtime is being built now. Nothing ships to everyone without a won test and your approval.

Find what's holding your Shopify store back

Liftable reads your storefront as a shopper would and shows what looks wrong on your own pages, desktop and mobile: friction, slow pages, missing trust and apps doing nothing, with the evidence for each. Free, in about a minute.

Questions, answered plainly

Short answers, including exactly what is live today and what is not.

How much traffic do I need?

As a rough guide, about 50,000 sessions a month is where a storefront change can be measured in a few weeks, or meaningful Klaviyo and SMS volume if your traffic is lower. Below that, the scan and the fixes that do not need a test (speed, broken flows, app bloat) still apply, and we tell you which side of the line your store is on before you commit to anything.

What data and access do you need?

For the free scan: your store address and an email. No install, no login, no card. Going further means connecting Shopify and installing the Liftable pixel, which reads sessions and orders for your store. Each store’s data is scoped to that store. The only thing combined across merchants is anonymised effect sizes, and a store can opt out. The privacy policy lists every scope.

Will you touch my live theme?

No. Liftable never edits your theme’s code, live or duplicate. Theme changes can only appear through Liftable’s theme app extension, which you switch on in the theme editor, and nothing changes on your store without your approval. In the Founding Brand Programme every change is agreed with you first and is reversible.

What does it cost?

The free scan costs nothing, for anyone. The Founding Brand Programme is 14 days free, conditional on an active setup and a scheduled review, then $750–$1,500 a month depending on sessions, including implementation support. Cancel any time after the first month. There is no performance guarantee. Self-serve plans are coming later; the pricing page has the details.

How soon will I get something useful?

The scan takes about a minute and ends with what to fix first, with the evidence for each. In the programme, a 20-minute review walks through the first one to three opportunities, and the aim is one or two reversible improvements inside the 14 days. How soon a result can be measured depends on your traffic.

What exactly is live today?

Live: the free store scan of your storefront on desktop and mobile, a modelled estimate for each issue with its inputs shown, fixes drafted from templates, and an approvals log. With our founding team: implementing the first fix with you (including Klaviyo and SMS flow fixes) and measuring it where your traffic supports it. Not live yet: automated split tests on a store, holdbacks and the verified-revenue receipt. No automated test has run on a merchant’s store.

Is this an AI agent?

Your always-on conversion operator is the way we describe it: it watches for shopper friction, shows the evidence, drafts the fix and waits for your approval. For technical founders: Like Claude Code, for your store. You ask in plain English about opportunities, sessions, offers or flows, and it drafts; you decide what goes anywhere.
