Liftable and Slack: decisions where your team already works
A proposal that needs a decision is posted to the channel you choose with Approve and Reject buttons, and guardrail alerts go to the same place. Every decision still goes through Liftable’s policy layer and is logged.

What connecting it does for you
- An approval request in Slack, with the plan attached and Approve and Reject buttons, so a decision does not wait for someone to open the app.
- Guardrail alerts when a test stops.
What Liftable reads
- Workspace members’ names and email addresses, so a button press can be recorded against the person who made it.
What Liftable can write
- Messages to the channel you chose. A button press is a decision, recorded in the decisions log with who made it.
What it never reads or does
- Reading channel messages or history: no scope for it is requested.
- Taking a decision on your behalf: the button is a person’s decision, and the policy layer is the same one the app uses.
The permissions requested
- chat:write
- chat:write.public
- commands
- users:read
- users:read.email
These are the permissions the connector asks the vendor for, as the vendor names them. The Connections page shows the same list on the row before you connect.
How to connect
- Connect from the Connections page where the deployment has a Slack app configured; the row says ‘Not available yet’ otherwise.
How often, and where the data lands
Event-driven: a message when a decision is needed or a guardrail trips. A weekly receipt to Slack is not built.
Questions
Can I approve from Slack?
Yes. The buttons post to Liftable, which applies the same policy and guardrails as the app and records the decision with your name. Approving records a decision; it does not by itself start anything the policy would not allow.
